The Department of Homeland Security has awarded a government-industry team that includes Kris Dooley, Abby Hooper and Steve Vargas of LMI the Building Partnerships Award.
The LMI acquisition and financial management professionals are part of a group that worked with the National Urban Security Technology Laboratory within the DHS science and technology directorate’s office of national laboratories, the company said Tuesday.
Reginald Brothers, DHS undersecretary for S&T, presented the award during a ceremony July 26 in recognition of the team’s work to provide a new technology for first responders in 2015.
LMI said its team received the Outstanding Contractor Support Award in 2015 for its quality management system that helped prepare NUSTL for certification under the International Organization for Standardization.
S&T works to test and research technology candidates through an annual operations exercise where first responders can test the technologies firsthand.
