cloud computingSecuriport has entered an agreement with Amazon Web Services as a technology partner to develop, deploy and test various immigration control services and internal research and development projects through the AWS Cloud.

Washington, D.C.-based Securiport said Friday it will utilize its Amazon Partner Network membership and AWS resources to build and test new cloud technology in a controlled environment.

Securiport will follow a three-phased approach in line with its Intelligent Information Management System roadmap on how to use AWS’ services.

The AWS cloud will function as a development and testing accelerator while Securiport works to update its offerings through the platform’s globe-spanning services and migrate production workloads into the Amazon cloud environment.

Securiport has deployed its first R&D workload on the AWS cloud in support of its cloud adaption efforts.

Nate Carpenter, Securiport’s chief software architect and an Amazon certified solutions architect, said AWS’ on-demand resources help the company to safely conduct development work and R&D tasks.

Carpenter added that Securiport can build and shut down servers and storages when required through the platform.

The company said it will work to provide services that employ AWS’ global services such as the Simple Notification Service to deliver email- and text message-based event notifications to clients.

Securiport plans to leverage AWS’ cloud platform to offer customers with technical support, as well as collaborate with AWS and other providers to support clients with cloud migration and security and compliance needs.
