A new IDC report has highlighted the role system integrators play in helping the federal government transition to digital platforms through the 3rd platform technologies mobility, cloud, big data and analytics and social business.
The report evaluates the system integrators’ relationship with each other and with the factors the report finds conducive to government digital transformation based on a set of parameters, IDC said Thursday.
According to the new IDC MarketScape report, five of the system integrators deploy cybersecurity and the 3rd platform technologies to help government customers fulfill their goals and that these vendors use human-centric service design principles.
“Many of the SIs included in this study are deploying agile processes and assisting agencies in the design of user-friendly offerings for the data-driven customer with the goal of driving better mission outcomes,” said Adelaide O’ Brien, research director at IDC Government Insights.
“IDC predicts that by 2018, 90 percent of all industry projects will be rooted in the concepts of experimentation, speed, and quality,” O’ Brien added.
System integrators cited in the report apply predictive analytics to their recruitment process and plan to adopt Internet of Things, robotics, cognitive and artificial intelligence, wearables and digital services in order to provide professional services to the government.
