leidos_purpleLeidos has secured a four-year, $40 million contract modification from the Defense Security Service to develop an integrated technology platform that will replace DSS’ Industrial Security Facilities Database and Electronic Facility Clearance System.

The Defense Department said Wednesday the company will build an automated National Industrial Security System for DSS under the modification.

Work will occur at Leidos’ facility in Columbia, Maryland through Sept. 29, 2020.

The modification will increase the contract’s total face value from $10 million to $50 million and change the performance period to an ordering period for the remainder of the contract term, DoD noted.

DSS’ Office of Acquisitions will obligate funds upon issuance of individual task orders.

NISS will be built to automate DSS’ initial facility clearance process and provide an on-demand, data-driven environment with automated workflows for government and industry partners.
