Washington Headquarters Services has awarded American Systems a potential five-year, $52 million contract to provide professional engineering services to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Developmental Test and Evaluation.

American Systems said Friday its warfare area professionals will work to manage, review and evaluate approximately 150 major defense acquisition program and major automated information system acquisition programs at DASD DT&E.

The company will also assist MDAP and MAIS acquisition program managers and chief developmental testers in efforts to develop test strategies as well as monitor the progress of various programs for acquisition decision makers.

Peter Smith, American Systems president and CEO, said the contract allows the company to continue to support DASD through test and evaluation technologies and services.

The company will also help the office manage workflow, track action items and financial execution activities.

The contract has one base year and four option years and was awarded through the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services contract vehicle.
