world blue mapEsri has made available its enterprise mapping and spatial analytics platform on Microsoft‘s Azure Government Cloud to support the deployment of geographic information systems technology on Microsoft Azure virtual machines.

A blog post published Friday on Microsoft’s website says ArcGIS for Server offers a web GIS environment for mapping and spatial analytics functions that feature maps and apps designed to be used and shared between everyone in an organization.

ArcGIS for Server on Microsoft Azure also aims to help users maintain hardware infrastructure as sites can be created or removed depending on demand, the post noted.

ArcGIS for Server works to help clients extend the reach of GIS capacity, manage GIS assets, share imagery, access spatial data in databases and integrate with existing information technology infrastructures in a push to help clients with decision making functions.

Microsoft Azure Government offers Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and Defense Department compliance certifications, Criminal Justice Information Services state-level agreements and support for Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075.
