data-ServersLeidos has selected Crystal Group’s computer servers for integration with the former’s signals intelligence platform, Military & Aerospace reported Tuesday.

John Keller writes Leidos will integrate Crystal’s RS378 3U rugged server with its eXpeditionary RT system that works to provide users with situational awareness data derived from various information sources.

Matthew Smith, senior program manager at Leidos, told Association of the U.S. Army conference attendees Monday that Crystal’s RS378 3U server is a scalable platform designed to meet Leidos’ systems engineering requirements, Keller reports.

Leidos’ XRT platform uses Windows 2008 server on VMware’s Workstation 10 and integrates a GPS antenna and receiver as well as the RedHat-built Enterprise Linux operating system.

Crystal Group’s RS378 3U server has a memory of up to 512 gigabytes and integrates Intel’s Haswell, Ivy Bridge and Xeon Sandy Bridge microprocessors, the report added.
