Microsoft has opened a Cybersecurity Engagement Center in India to help identify and address cyber threats in the country, Gadget 360 reported Sunday.
Bhaskar Pramanik, chairman of Microsoft’s India-based operations, said the CSEC will support the company’s efforts to secure corporate customers’ information as well as the private data and transactions of citizens, the report stated.
The center is also designed to grow Microsoft’s public-private partnerships in India and give customers access to the company’s resources such as security specialists and technologies, the website noted.
Microsoft said in a statement that its cybersecurity management team met with more than 100Â Indian organizations to discuss cybersecurity issues.
Common challenges include unmanaged and unregulated use of information technology assets; procurement and maintenance; insufficient cyber hygiene knowledge; and inability to monitor and mitigate threats, the report said.
