Cloud securityDell Technologies‘ Dell EMC subsidiary has unveiled a platform that works to protect enterprise applications that run on Amazon Web Services.

Dell EMC said Monday its NetWorker with CloudBoost system is built to provide an enterprise-grade backup service for applications on AWS as well as client-side optimized backups, inline deduplication, encryption and compression with direct backup to Amazon Simple Storage Service.

NetWorker with CloudBoost is designed to also help enterprise customers use Amazon S3 and Amazon S3 Standard – Infrequent Access to secure AWS workloads through tools and interfaces that are available within customers’ on-premises environment, the company added.

Dell EMC also extended its Data Domain protection storage platform to Amazon S3.

Data Domain Cloud Tier works to help customers natively tier data to Amazon S3 for long-term retention and send unique, deduplicated data directly from Data Domain to the cloud, Dell EMC noted.

Data Domain is designed to integrate backup, archive and disaster recovery on a single system.
