electronicRaytheon and the University of Massachusetts’ Lowell Nanomanufacturing Center have received a $1.9 million grant to further develop a flexible electronics manufacturing process, The Lowell Sun reported Tuesday.

The project’s funding comes from the NextFlex grant with the goal to advance the way printed, conformal radio-frequency electronics are manufactured, according to the report.

Dassault Systemes SIMULIA Corp. will also contribute multi-physics modelling to the project as a factor in device integration, the Lowell Sun reports.

Future application of the processes includes the design of adaptive printed radio frequency and microwave parts as components for next-generation asset monitoring systems, the publication reports.
