BAE to Supply Retrofit Systems for USAF Countermeasure Dispenser Platform

Bae-systems-logo_ExecutiveBiz1BAE Systems has received a $15.3 million firm-fixed-price contract to supply 242 retrofit systems for the U.S. Air Force‘s (AN/ALE)-58A countermeasure dispenser platform.

The Defense Department said Thursday the (AN/ALE)-58A platform is designed to dispense countermeasure decoys such as chaffs and flares in order to disrupt radar and infrared homing threats and increase aircraft survivability.

BAE’s electronic systems sector will perform work in Austin, Texas, through June 8, 2019.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center obligated the full contract amount from fiscal 2015 and 2016 National Guard and Reserve equipment funds.
