TelosTelos Corp. has been selected to operate and maintain software applications the Department of Homeland Security procured from the company to implement information security policies and monitor security programs and compliance functions.

Telos said Tuesday it will extend support for Xacta Assessment Engine and Xacta Continuum to help DHS manage the agency’s Federal Information Security Management Act requirements through process engineering, deployments and template development assistance.

DHS bought Xacta Assessment Engine and the continuous monitoring tool Xacta Continuum from Telos in 2012 to ensure enterprise-wide compliance with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program workflow and federal cloud security requirements.

Xacta works to automate security authorizations and comply with security standards such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework.

“We look forward to continuing our support of the department and helping it manage, monitor and track authorizations to operate, plans of action and milestones, control assessments, and ongoing authorizations,” said Ben Taylor, vice president of information assurance services for Telos.

Xacta Assessment Engine incorporates a huge database of security requirements and related test procedures cross-referenced into more than 100 security policies, regulations and standards.

Xacta Continuum is designed to help customers gain a full view of their asset compliance posture and actionable reporting metrics.
