Verizon's ICSA Labs Certifies FireEye Network Security Platform; Jack Walsh Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventVerizon‘s independent testing and certification division has granted an advanced threat defense certification to FireEye‘s network threat prevention platform after the technology detected all threats during a test cycle.

FireEye said Tuesday its Network Security product series identified 100 percent of threats and one false positive during ICSA Labs‘ test which marks the first time that a security provider’s platform detected all threats faced.

“Enterprises today must be able to not only identify and protect against known threats but also to protect against new and unknown malicious threats,” said Jack Walsh, manager of new initiatives and mobility programs at ICSA Labs.

Walsh added the certification validates FireEye’s commitment to deliver security technology that meets internet security standards.

ICSA Labs tested FireEye NX for 36 consecutive days through 738 test runs using newly-harvested threats that traditional security products were not able detect, FireEye noted.

The platform is designed to protect against known and unknown threats through the signature-less Multi-Vector Virtual Execution engine, conventional intrusion prevention system and intelligence-driven detection.
