Windstream Receives Gold-Level Military Friendly Employer Award from Victory Media

Victory Media has given a Gold-Level Military Friendly Employer award to Windstream for the company’s work to meet six criteria on advancement rates, hiring, military employment application, promotion, turnover and National Guard and Reserve policies.

Windstream said Friday it worked on its military hiring program in 2015 with the appointment of Angel Ramos, retired command sergeant major, who led the company’s efforts.

“Making the transition from the structure and familiarity of the military lifestyle is one of the biggest obstacles veterans face,” said Ramos.

“Windstream is proud to receive this Military Friendly Gold award because we are committed to helping veterans transition to the civilian workforce,” noted John Fletcher, Windstream’s chief human resource officer, executive vice president and general counsel.

Windstream offers business continuity, cloud, managed services, network and unified communications systems as well as enterprise network services to clients in the education, financial services, government, healthcare, hospitality and retail industries.
