Jannet Walker Ford, former vice president and North America director of strategic programs and policy at Parsons, will join Cubic‘s transportation systems business on March 6 as VP and general manager for the Eastern Region and Americas.

“Jannet brings a wealth of expertise from the private and public sector focusing on transportation systems, and is known for her visionary and goal-oriented leadership style,” Matt Cole, president of Cubic’s transportation unit, said in a statement released Thursday.

Walker Ford previously served as deputy program director for the Philadelphia International Airport’s Capacity Enhancement Program and chief information officer for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.

She also held leadership positions at the American Public Transportation Association, Women’s Transportation Seminar and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials.

Cubic’s projects in the Eastern region include the EASY Card revenue management system in Miami, which has expanded as part of a $33 million contract that calls for the integration of cloud-based mobile and open payment services into the project.

The company also currently works with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Maryland Transit Administration and Puerto Rico-based rail and bus transport operators Autoridad de Transporte Intregrado and Metropolitan Bus Authority.
