Cubic's GATR Technologies Subsidiary to Debut Portable Satcom Antenna, Modem Offerings - top government contractors - best government contracting eventGATR Technologies, a Cubic subsidiary, will unveil a foldable satellite communications antenna along with a modem technology based on iDirect‘s Velocity product line at the Satellite 2017 convention in Washington, D.C.

Cubic said Tuesday the GATR-FLEX satcom antenna and GATR 950 modem will offer an integrated data transfer terminal platform that can work to support sub-meter satcom operations that leverage high-throughput satellites.

The GATR-FLEX terminal is designed to have a low size, weight and power profile as well as to transmit high power signal, the company noted.

Mike Twyman, president of Cubic’s mission solutions segment, said the terminal is an addition to the company’s portable C4ISR product line for tactical military operations.

Roark McDonald, vice president and general manager of GATR Technologies, said the business aims to help customers transfer huge amounts of data such as video streams with the GATR-FLEX and GATR 950 offerings.
