Army Orders $92M in Orbital ATK Small-Caliber Rounds

Orbital ATK has secured orders worth $92 million combined to supply small-caliber rounds to the U.S. Army.

The orders cover 7.62 millimeter and 5.56 mm ammunition under the company’s supply contract with the service branch, Orbital ATK said Monday.

Orbital ATK will manufacture the ammo at the Lake City Army ammunition facility in Missouri, which has undergone operational, environmental and safety upgrades in previous years.

The company has made at least 17 billion small-caliber rounds since 2000 at the Lake City plant in support of U.S. troops and allied forces.
