Oracle’s Mark Johnson: Agencies Should Consider End-to-End App Security Tools in Cloud Transition - top government contractors - best government contracting eventMark Johnson, director of modern platform for government at Oracle, has said that agencies should consider three factors before moving information technology systems to the cloud and one of them is to adopt end-to-end security platforms.

Johnson wrote in an FCW commentary piece published Friday that such security tools should work to protect applications from cyber vulnerabilities in support of application users.

He called on organizations within the public sector to align their requirements with cloud service providers.

Some of the questions that agencies should consider about their vendors include commonality in views on security and how vendors understand a public sector organization’s objectives, he wrote.

Johnson also noted that agencies should have a plan in place that details actions to take in the event of a security breach.
