Kate Schuelke — formerly senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Intel‘s Altera Corp. subsidiary — has been appointed SVP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary at data storage company Seagate Technology.
She will report to Seagate CEO and Chairman Steve Luczo and lead global security and government relations teams under her new roles, the company said Thursday.
Schuelke has more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property law, corporate governance, litigation, compliance, mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions.
The two-decade Altera veteran previously managed legal, internal audit and compliance functions of the field-programmable gate array developer.
She also held an associate role at law firms Morrison & Foerster and Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn.
Schuelke lectured at Polish universities, government institutions and businesses on U.S. intellectual property law as a Fulbright scholar.
