The Defense Department said Monday the modification exercises an option under a previously awarded contract and covers air and ship integration, electromagnetic environmental effects, mass properties, systems engineering management, anti-tamper, mission engineering and interoperability services.

DoD added the services are for integrated program teams, externally directed teams and enterprise teams that support all Naval Air programs.

The Navy will obligate $13.2 million in fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation; aircraft procurement; operations and maintenance, weapons procurement and working capital funds at the time of modification award.

A portion of the obligated funds will also come from U.S. Marine Corps and Navy ammunition procurement funds along with foreign military sales funds, DoD noted.
