Raytheon will expand its existing 103,000-square-foot facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and add 60 manufacturing jobs in the next six years, Albuquerque Business First reported Friday.
New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez’s office announced the company’s expansion plan that will receive $850,000 in funds from the state’s economic development agency through the Local Economic Development Act and additional $425,000 in LEDA funds from the city of Albuquerque.
Lorenzo Cortes, a spokesman for Raytheon, said the 72,000-square-foot expansion at Sandia Labs’ Science and Tech Park will cover the construction of additional offices, testing and assembly structures as well as laboratories.
Taylor Lawrence, president of Raytheon’s missile systems business, said the partnerships with the city of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico would help the company support its local operations and advance innovation efforts.
