Ed Sheehan, president and CEO of Concurrent Technologies Corp., has been appointed to the board of directors of The Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial.

Sheehan will bring philanthropic experience to the board and build on his company’s support for Friends of Flight 93-hosted annual events such as the September 11 Observance, the nonprofit said Wednesday.

He has served as CTC’s president since 2008 and as CEO of the scientific research and development contractor since 2009.

Friends of Flight 93 serves as the official supporting partner of the Flight 93 National Memorial, which commemorates the passengers and crew of the United Airlines Flight 93 that was hijacked during the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
