Leaders of the Department of Homeland Security, NASA and the Small Business Administration will serve as keynote speakers at the Senior Executives Association’s 2017 Presidential Rank Awards Leadership Summit on Dec. 7.
DHS Acting Secretary Elaine Duke, NASA Acting Administrator Robert Lightfoot Jr. and SBA Administrator Linda McMahon will headline the inaugural event, which aims to recognize the service of senior government leaders, SEA said Monday.
Duke is a past recipient of the Presidential Meritorious Rank Award and Lightfoot is a three-time Presidential Rank Award winner.
“We are very excited about the level of enthusiasm we have received from speakers, awardees and attendees on the need to address the leadership pipeline, executive readiness and transformational leadership at this year's summit,” said SEA President Bill Valdez.
SEA will present the 2016 and 2017 Presidential Rank Award recipients with the highest civilian career leadership recognition at the ceremony in Washington and offer training sessions to career and future leaders in government.
The event will include discussions on the current state of federal career senior leadership, talent management, executive branch reform, the work of government watchdogs and cybersecurity.
SEA is an association that represents Senior Executive Service and other career federal leaders.
