Meopta will manufacture various components including line-of-sight technology for the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle, BAE Systems said Monday.
BAE Systems’ team of Czech Republic-based suppliers currently includes VOP CZ and Ray Service and the addition of Meopta helps reinforce BAE Systems’ alliances within the Czech industry.
“As we continue to pursue the BMP II replacement program, we are pleased to see one of our key suppliers expand their own range of services,” said Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, general manager of BAE Systems' Hagglunds business.
Saab and Meopta co-developed the Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft Fire Control System for the CV90 platform which aims to replace the Czech Army’s fleet of BMP II IFVs.
BAE Systems participated on Czech-Swedish Industry Days in Prague which was attended by 20 local companies and Swedish businesses to talk about the development of local industry relationships throughout the defense sector.
