Serco to Extend Pilot Training, Facility Mgmt Services at UK Air Base - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSerco has received a potential eight-year, $34.5 million contract extension to help manage facilities and train pilots at the CAE-built Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility within Royal Air Force Benson station in England.

The new contract will extend collaborative efforts of Serco and CAE at the training facility until at least October 2025 and potentially through October 2037 if options are exercised, Serco said Thursday.

CAE developed MSHATF to help train British air force and navy helicopter crew, as well as airmen from other NATO member countries and allies.

Under the extended contract, Serco's helicopter instructors will train pilots using the facility’s six simulators that have been configured for Chinook, Merlin and Puma helicopters.

Serco will also provide full ground school training on basic aircraft systems of all three helicopter platforms.
