Air Force Offers Industry Access to ISR Pod Technical Data - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Air Force has opened up its technical data package for a prototype multi-intelligence pod system to the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance industry as part of an effort to encourage developers to build compatible sensor platforms.

AgilePod is designed with multiple modules that can be configured to support ISR and non-ISR missions, the Air Force said Thursday.

The technical data package covers associated lists, drawings, software documentation, models, packaging details and performance requirements meant to help users create products that can complement Air Force equipment.

The Air Force Research Laboratory’s materials and manufacturing directorate offered commercial entities access to the AgilePod technical data package through 14 information transfer agreements.

“ITAs have allowed industry partners to identify areas of improvement for AgilePod such as cooling in the pod; which we are now working on,” said Capt. Blake McCollum of the Air Force Research Laboratory electronics and sensors branch.

“With these types of inputs, we are ultimately able to develop a better product for the warfighter.”
