A business unit of Cubic has received approval from the U.S. Army to commence full rate production of satellite antenna systems for the service branch’s Transportable Tactical Command Communications program.

Cubic Mission Solutions will begin to produce GATR expeditionary satellite antennas for deployment to multiple Army units, the company said Tuesday.

Mike Twyman, president of Cubic Mission Solutions, said the GATR system is designed to offer transportability, high-bandwidth capacity and ease of set-up for military users.

The system’s inflatable terminals will work to support mission command and network communications for initial entry and sustained forward operations of the service branch.

Army soldiers completed the T2C2 operational test at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska in March last year.

Cubic noted that the service branch intends to initially deploy T2C2 units to a brigade from the 82nd Airborne Division.
