Austal said Saturday the future USNS Burlington is part of a 12-ship contract worth potentially $1.9 billion.
The EPF 10 christening ceremony featured Rear Adm. Dee Mewbourne, commander of the Military Sealift Command, as well as Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) and his wife Marcelle, the ship’s sponsor.
The company delivered nine Spearhead-class ships to support MSC missions worldwide.
Austal also serves as the prime contractor for the Navy’s Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship program.
