L3 Delivers Coast Guard's First HC-130J Aircraft Equipped With New Mission System - top government contractors - best government contracting event

L3 Technologies has completed delivery of an HC-130J aircraft equipped with a Minotaur mission system suite to the U.S. Coast Guard as part of a potential five-year contract.

The company said Wednesday its aerospace systems business installed and tested the government-furnished MSS+ on the aircraft in an effort to increase the service branch’s long-range surveillance capacity.

An aircraft completion ceremony took place at L3’s facility in Waco, Texas.

The U.S. Navy and Coast Guard jointly developed the mission system for integration into multiple platforms.

L3 added that it will support full system integration on two more baseline configuration aircraft and retrofit four HC-130J units for the Coast Guard through contract options.

The contract also contains an option for the company to missionize five additional planes.
