New Orleans City Council OKs Incentive Package for DXC - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe city council of New Orleans, Louisiana, has approved a potential $6.5 million incentive package for DXC Technology in exchange for the creation of approximately 2,000 jobs in the next seven years, The New Orleans Advocate reported Sunday.

The approval came four months after DXC announced plans to generate jobs in New Orleans as part of the establishment of a digital transformation center in the city that will provide cloud, cybersecurity and other digital services to clients worldwide.

DXC pledged to hire employees in the area and Terrell Boynton, the company’s local director, agreed to conduct regular meetings with Councilman Jason Williams, New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce and The Collaborative to discuss the company’s efforts to employ disadvantaged workers in the city.

The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based government information technology services contractor will receive the incentive in annual installments over the next 10 years depending on its capacity to meet the city’s job creation requirements, the report added.
