Maj. Gen. Jeff Schloesser, executive vice president for strategic pursuits at Bell, told Military.com that the company will install Lockheed Martin‘s Pilotage Distributed Aperture Sensor system that is designed to provide 360-degree awareness for aircraft.

Bell and Lockheed are jointly developing the aircraft under the Army’s Future Vertical Lift program.

The V-280 underwent a multi-role technology demonstration in June, six months after the aircraft’s first test flight.
