IST Research Gets Army Contract, Makes Inc. 5000 List; Ryan Paterson Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventFredericksburg, Va.-based IST Research has received a potential five-year, $48.3M contract to supply the U.S. Army with a communications platform designed to help users obtain insight into human security challenges.

The company said Thursday it will provide the Pulse Platform to the service and perform research, development and engineering efforts to advance the technology as part of the contract.

“This is the largest and most robust contract IST Research has captured in its decade-long existence. Working with operational partners and contractual authorities, we combined product, services, and additional R&D efforts under a single contractual umbrella,” Ryan Paterson, founder and CEO of IST Research, told ExecutiveBiz.

Paterson added the Pulse system is equipped with tools that were built through the three-phase Small Business Innovation Research program under different topics from the Defense Research Advanced Projects Agency, Office of Naval Research and U.S. Special Operations Command.

Pulse employs content discovery and social listening processes across populations for various applications such as humanitarian assistance, security, risk assessment and marketing.

IST Research is also included in Inc. magazine’s 5000 list, which ranks U.S. companies based on revenues earned over the past three years.

The recognition marks the third consecutive year that IST Research has landed a spot on the list, reporting a three-year revenue growth rate of 105 percent.
