Symantec has introduced a free cybersecurity service in a move to help political campaign parties and candidates protect their websites against malicious actors.

Project Dolphin is powered by artificial intelligence technology and works to analyze a website in the company’s telemetry and alert an organization once a spoof site is discovered, Symantec said Tuesday.

The company seeks to deter phishing scams, fake news dissemination or identity theft crimes through the service.

“Symantec has been focused on election security for many years, but given the gravity of the current security landscape, we are compelled to raise awareness and make it easy for relevant parties to participate in ensuring the integrity of the upcoming election,” said Symantec CEO Greg Clark.

“It is important for all parties, public and private, to contribute to protecting the security and integrity of our elections and democracy.”
