GitHub's Cloud Software Now FedRAMP-Certified - top government contractors - best government contracting eventGitHub‘s software development platform has been approved under the General Services Administration‘s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, a cybersecurity standard for products and services used in the government.

The authorization allows for the continued use of GitHub Business Cloud in the federal government and verifies the platform’s compliance with software security standards, Elizabeth Pemmerl, U.S. east and public sector director at GitHub, said Wednesday in a blog post.

The FedRAMP-approved GitHub platform is designed to help federal agencies perform secure cloud collaborations; test new concepts; and modernize software development methods.

Open-source collaboration, dataset publishing and policy input solicitation are among the platform’s many uses in the federal government.

Microsoft is working to acquire GitHub under a $7.5B deal.
