Intel Unveils Processor, Memory Platforms at 2018 Supercomputing Event; Rajeeb Hazra Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting eventIntel has offered a preview of its new computer processor technology designed to help organizations manage high-performance computing and artificial intelligence workloads.

The company said Sunday it showcased the Cascade Lake processor and demonstrated the use of its Optane DC Persistent Memory in next-generation machines last week during the Supercomputing 2018 event.

Rajeeb Hazra, corporate vice president and general manager of Intel’s enterprise and government business, said customers wants to have an ability to manage HPC and AI applications.

Hazra added the company aims to open doors to industrial and research insights with “intelligent” infrastructure.

Lake Cascade represents a new class of Intel’s Xeon Scalable processor and is equipped with the DL Boost technology that works to increase AI or deep learning inference performance by up to 17 times compared with the Xeon Platinum processor.

The company plans to roll out the Lake Cascade product in the first half of 2019.

Intel designed its Optane DC Persistent Memory to increase the capacity of a server memory and the performance of an application.
