Navy Seeks Industry Input to Build Amphibious Surf-Capable Vehicle - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Navy is seeking sources for the development of an amphibious surf-capable vehicle to address a potential requirement of the Naval Facilities Engineering Center’s Expeditionary Program Office.

The service branch intends to support its range of military operations with amphibious vessels that would address the need for transition between waterborne and land activity, the Navy said Wednesday in a FedBizOpps notice.

The amphibious vehicles will jointly operate with maritime prepositioning ships, and also support non-combatant evacuation operations and material transport missions.

The Navy expects to develop the vehicle in three phases: preliminary design, detailed design and production.

Responses to the sourcing are due on Dec. 14.
