Intelligent Waves has won a potential five-year, $49M contract to help the Defense Information Systems Agency manage logistical operations for the U.S. military's Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services program and Distributed Tactical Communication System.

The company will also provide field service representatives to support EMSS and DTCC under the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The base period of performance will commence on Feb. 25 and continue through Feb. 24, 2020. The IDIQ contains four option years.

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization received six proposals for the contract via an electronic solicitation process on FedBizOps.

EMSS works to help military personnel and partnering agencies transmit voice, data, paging and sim-less communications.

DTCS is designed to help warfighters communicate without the use of local ground-based infrastructure for over-the-horizon, on-the-move and beyond line-of-sight operations.
