Forcepoint has introduced a cybersecurity offering intended to help government and enterprise customers secure data, applications and business processes as they move to a cloud computing environment.

The Converged Security Platform includes an edge protection technology designed to support software-based networking in a wide area network and integrate firewall as a service with web and cloud security features, Forcepoint said Thursday.

The platform employs user action-based policies meant to reduce security friction, uses an open programming interface that allows for third-party product integration and offers cloud connectivity.

“Behavior-based cybersecurity is tailor-made for the era of mobility and cloud because it enables enterprises to detect and respond faster to risk than legacy paradigms that focus only on protecting infrastructure,” said Matt Moynahan, CEO of Forcepoint.

Moynahan added the company uses a human-centric approach to help customers protect data and users from sophisticated threats.

Forcepoint also established a global partner ecosystem in a move to expand the firm's risk-based security efforts in the public cloud, data classification and identity and access management areas.

The ecosystem aims to simplify the process for technology vendors and customers to collaborate in the creation of integrated security stack.
