CPI Aero said Wednesday it will supply rudder island and drag chute canister assemblies to Lockheed for installation on the tail section of F-16V multirole jets.
“This new contract builds on our history on the F-16 as a supplier to the U.S. Air Force for legacy structural components and leverages our deep assembly expertise to expand our involvement with the F-16 program into new production models," said Douglas McCrosson, president and CEO of CPI Aero.
The company expects to receive an initial, multimillion dollar order for RI/DCC assemblies within the next several weeks.
The assemblies are slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2019 through 2024. Lockheed also expects to award a multi-millon dollar purchase order under the contract in the coming weeks.
