The Securities and Exchange Commission has released a request for information on potential sources of blockchain data for the agency to manage risk, compliance and policy regarding digital assets.

SEC said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Thursday it looks to obtain data for blockchain ledgers through a subscription service and wants to know the processes a vendor will use to extract and convert such information for evaluation purposes.

The agency is also interested in learning the steps to verify accuracy and completeness of blockchain transaction details.

Interested vendors should indicate their capabilities and cost estimates for blockchain data access services in a statement package.

Responses are due Feb. 14.
