Boeing has received a $40M contract modification to provide additional shipsets of the Block II infrared search-and-track system.

The company's defense, space and security business will produce six more IRST pods and will receive $19.6M at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Monday.

DoD noted the modification brings the original contract's total cumulative value to $249.8M. The Air Force awarded Boeing a $208M contract in August last year to provide Legion Pod sensors that work to help fighter pilots detect airborne threats.

Work under the latest award will occur through Oct. 31, 2022, in Missouri and Florida.
