A joint venture of Boeing and Textron's Bell subsidiary has received a two-year, $85.7M contract modification from the U.S. Navy to convert four military tiltrotor aircraft into a new configuration.

Bell Boeing Joint Project Office will modify Block B MV-22 Osprey units into Block C vehicles and support a maintenance interval effort for one aircraft through the Common Configuration Readiness and Modernization program, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Ninety-three percent of work will occur in Ridley Park, Penn., and the remaining 7 percent will take place in Fort Worth, Texas.

Contract funds amounting to $22.3M will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Defense Logistics Agency awarded Bell Boeing JPO a $143.8M firm-fixed-price contract in January to engineer and provide logistics services to V-22 tiltrotor planes.
