The Defense Human Resources Activity has asked industry to submit white papers on commercial technology platforms that could help federal agencies carry out career development and retraining initiatives for government employees, Bloomberg Government reported Friday.

The agency released the request for information on Feb. 26 as the government prepares to launch a pilot program to assess the capabilities of learning management systems and processes to advance skills development among federal employees.

The RFI listed six requirements for potential vendors and one of those is the use of software and technologies to back talent development, acquisition, management and analytics.

Other requirements include the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, autonomy, simulation, gaming and mobility; adoption of cloud platforms and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certifications; and approaches to competency identification, performance management and career development.

Responses to the RFI are due March 15, according to the report.
