Lockheed Martin has celebrated the opening of its cyber facility at Port San Antonio's Project Tech complex with ribbon-cutting and open house events.

The company said Monday it transformed the 15K-square-foot office into a workspace for cybersecurity technology development efforts since Lockheed leased the facility in July of last year.

"Because of the continuously evolving cyber threat, we've seen an increase in demand for relevant services and technologies,“ said Jon Rambeau, vice president and general manager of the C6ISR division at Lockheed's rotary and missions systems business.

"We recently expanded our cyber business to comprise not one, but now two market segments ““ cyber solutions and spectrum convergence ““ both of which will have teams doing work at the new facility,"

Lockheed aims to attract at least 100 professionals within the San Antonio area over the next five years to help address a demand for cyber architects, software engineers and intelligence analysts.
