The Washington Headquarters Services has posted a request for information on potential sources of professional services for the Department of Defense’s cloud computing program office to manage Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure contract operations.

CCPO needs help to deliver an enterprise cloud service that will include end-user engagement and early-adopter application migration functions, WHS said Tuesday in a  FedBizOpps notice.

A potential vendor will assist the office in areas such as business operations, engineering, security, office automation, risk management, strategic communications, budgeting and financial management.

JEDI Cloud is intended to support the DoD business and mission through commercial infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service offerings. The infrastructure will serve as a pathfinder for department officials to understand the process to implement an enterprise cloud system that adheres to security and governance requirements, WHS noted.

Interested parties can submit responses to the RFI notice through April 23.

Bloomberg reported Thursday the Pentagon determined that Amazon and Microsoft were the only companies that met the department’s  “minimum requirements” for the JEDI acquisition program.
