Ronald Yearwood, formerly a senior executive in the FBI's cyber division, has joined global advisory firm FTI Consulting as a senior managing director for its cybersecurity practice.

He will be based in San Francisco and will also oversee the unit's vulnerability assessment program, which includes advanced penetration test and hunt team operations, the company said Tuesday.

Yearwood joins FTI after more than 23 years at the FBI, where he most recently led proactive and reactive technical operations. He supervised the bureau's Network Intrusion Rapid Incident Response and advanced digital forensics and malware analysis groups.

"I was inspired by the chance to leverage my professional and technical experience in law enforcement and the intelligence community to support clients across the globe as they mitigate cyber threats, reduce risk and enhance their cybersecurity posture in an increasingly high-stakes environment," Yearwood said.

FTI Consulting is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and advises clients on change management, risk mitigation and dispute resolution matters.
