Leidos has won a potential three-year, $19.3M contract to assist the U.S. Air Force in integration and field testing of a laser weapon technology.

The company will help the Air Force Research Laboratory research, develop and evaluate the performance of laser weapon systems in operational environments, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The service received one offer for the cost-reimbursement contract via a competitive acquisition and will obligate $500K at the time of award from its fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds.

Work will take place at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico through April 2022.
