Michael Van Rassen, formerly executive vice president of business development at Rajant, has been promoted to president of military and government markets at the Malvern, Pa.-based wireless mesh network provider.

He will help promote the Kinetic Mesh wireless network in the global defense market to address customers' strategic communications requirements, Rajant said Wednesday.

Van Rassen has more than 20 years of military procurement experience, having previously served as a product manager for the U.S. Army. He led the service branch's counter rocket, artillery and mortar procurement activities for more than a decade.

He is a recipient of various federal distinctions that include "Army Product Manager of the Year" and "The Superior Civilian Service Award."
