The U.S. Army has partnered with Lockheed Martin to fix more than 90K units of laser-based training hardware under a public-private partnership, Pocono Record reported Saturday.

Lockheed will help Tobyhanna Army Depot personnel in efforts to fix personnel-worn and vehicle-equipped devices that are part of the Instrumentable-Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System. The service branch uses I-MILES to simulate firing approaches for deployed soldiers and vehicles.

The I-MILES suite includes an individual weapons system and a combat vehicle tactical engagement simulator.

Lockheed will oversee on-site supply chain functions as the Army-owned facility works to replace defective components.

The report said Tobyhanna will receive $54M for the project through the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program.
