Dale Feddersen, an experienced pilot who has been a KBR employee for over 30 years, has been named 2018 U.S. Marine Corps Contractor Tester of the Year by the National Defense Industrial Association for leading a test pilot squadron for USMC aircraft.
Feddersen served as the lead pilot for the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Two One (HX-21), which includes aircrew, engineers and other KBR pilots who assessed the Sikorsky VH-92A helicopter, the next helicopter model to be utilized to transport leading U.S. officials, including the president and vice president, KBR said Tuesday.
“Moments like these are a reflection on all of us and the hard work that we do to protect those who serve,“ said Byron Bright, president of KBR’s U.S. government services business.
Feddersen, who spent over 50 years in government flight test programs, also handles the testing of modifications to the VH-60N and VH-3D helicopters as well as related simulators and trainers operated by the HMX-1 squadron.
His award marks the seventh time a KBR employee won NDIA Tester of the Year since 2004.
